东湖磨山景区位于武汉东湖边，磨山景区是中国最大的楚文化游览区、中国梅花、荷花研究中心所在地、世界三大赏樱胜地之一、是市民休闲娱乐的绝佳场所。磨山景区是东湖风景名胜区的核心景区之一。她居东湖中心，三面环水，逶迤六峰，总面积12平方公里。春樱、夏荷、秋桂、冬梅、四季花开不断，除了四季名花之处，春季还可赏杜鹃满山，夏天可赏百余种水生花卉。

　　磨山是国家风景名胜区东湖风景区的重要组成部分，国家5A级景区，是国务院首批公布的国家级重点风景名胜区；是中央文明办、建设部、国家旅游局确定的“全国文明风景区旅游示范点”；是国家首批4A级旅游景区。

　　磨山里面的楚文化气息浓郁，确实是接待外地朋友的首选目的地，由于现在限制私家车进磨山公园，而景区游览车所到的地方也有限，建议大家一大早进园，步行游览，因为景区大，肯定一整天时间，记得带上中午的干粮和水。
